Hi McKenzie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My photography journey began when I was 20 years old, as a stay-at-home mom looking for a way to earn extra income. I started by capturing moments with my daughter and family, and what began as a small hobby soon grew into something I never dreamed possible.

When I discovered photography, everything in my life started to fall into place. It gave me a purpose and a way to build something meaningful not only for myself but for my family.

I got to where I am today by dedicating my heart and soul to my business. You get where you want to be by working for it, putting in the time, and never giving up—because nothing comes easy. There were so many moments when I wanted to quit, doubting whether people would be interested in what I had to offer. But I kept pushing forward, trusting in my passion and my ability to grow.

Through hard work, perseverance, and faith, I’ve been able to build something I’m truly proud of. Every step of this journey has been worth it, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to do what I love.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like any business, there have been plenty of ups and downs. Starting out, I didn’t have the resources or experience that others might have had, so I had to learn everything on my own, from mastering the technical side of photography to managing the business aspects.

There were moments of doubt—times when I wondered if people would really be interested in my work or if I was good enough. I also faced the challenge of balancing family life with building a business, which wasn’t always easy.

But through every struggle, I kept pushing forward. I leaned on my passion for photography, and over time, I learned that challenges were part of the journey. Every setback has taught me something new, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without those experiences.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in wedding and lifestyle photography, with weddings being the heart of my business. I’m known for focusing on quality over quantity—delivering a smaller number of high-quality, stunning images that truly tell a story. I believe that each photo should capture an authentic moment, not just be another shot in a long list.

What I’m most proud of is how much I’ve grown throughout this journey. Growing up, I didn’t have the easiest start, and I didn’t come from a background that offered much guidance. But I always knew I wanted to make something of myself, and photography has given me that opportunity.

What sets me apart from others is my attention to detail and my dedication to making sure my clients look and feel amazing. Whether it’s adjusting your hair, helping with your outfit, or capturing the perfect shot, I’m here to make sure everything is just right. I also make sure to communicate clearly and promptly with all my clients—something I believe is really important in today’s fast-paced world.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
One thing I’d like to share with your readers is a quote that has always stuck with me: “What comes easy won’t last long, and what lasts long won’t come easy.” This quote perfectly reflects my journey. Building my photography business from the ground up hasn’t been easy, but I wouldn’t trade the struggles for anything. It’s tempting to look at others’ success and wish things came that easily, but I’ve always believed that real, lasting success comes from putting in the work.

True success takes time, dedication, and the willingness to face the tough moments head-on. Everything I’ve built—from my business to my growth and the relationships I’ve developed—feels solid because I know it wasn’t handed to me. I put in the effort, and that’s what makes it truly meaningful.
