Inspiring Conversations with Eric Mintz of Synergy Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Mintz

Hi Eric, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was pre-med at Michigan State University and wanted to become a pediatrician. Long story short I took an Anthropology class about culture, health and illness and learned about chiropractic care. I don’t know what made me approach the professor, but I wanted to learn about chiropractic so I asked my prof about it and she gave me her chiropractor’s name and number. I called her up and spoke to her briefly, she invited me to come shadow her so I did. It literally changed my life because of what she was doing helping people of all ages.

So I called other chiropractors to learn more and eventually I started getting adjusted and within a few months my allergies and asthma (which I had since childhood) went away! I was completely blown away and decided to become a chiropractor because of my personal healing with chiropractic care and the philosophy of natural holistic healing.

I went to Life Chiropractic College in Marietta GA and moved back to MIchigan after graduating (and spending 6 weeks traveling Europe including meeting one of my mentors in Italy) and opened up my practice. I’ve taken additional trainings and certification in some brain based techniques including Network Spinal Analysis and Neurofeedback.

Today I continue in private practice helping people of all ages. I have a wife of 25 years Michelle (whom I now work with in the same office) and two children, Isaac and Eden. I enjoy yoga, tennis and spending time outside hiking, camping, biking with my wife and 2 dogs.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it’s has definitely not been a smooth road. Struggles include everything from learning how to run an actual business (something we really don’t learn in Chiropractic School)

Also dealing with everything from housing crash of 2007-2008 to when the govt shut downs during Covid to changes in health care and health insurances.

Running a business and being an entrepreneur has been very challenging but also very rewarding as a growth experience.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Started my practice from scratch not knowing very much about running a practice. I am a brain based chiropractor focusing on gentle, safe chiropractic care and neurofeedback brain training. What sets me apart from others is that there’s no cracking or twisting or popping with my adjustments and also I’m probably one of the only chiropractors in Metro Detroit specializing in these techniques combined along with neurofeeback under the same roof.

Reading know – that I don’t just focus on back and neck pain, but also helping conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, PTSD and more.

Brain Based approach -very different than 95% of chiropractors in Michigan. No cracking – gentle touch techniques.
Cater to those afraid of traditional chiropractors. Also additional training and certifications in pediatric and pregnancy chiropractic.

Famous patients – take care of Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Pistons, U of M football players and alot of local HS athletes too!

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Several books and podcasts – Think and Grow Rich, Dale Carnegie, Wise Traditions, Mark Hyman show, The Energy Blueprint, Gary V for business, Four Agreements, Kabbalah, etc.
