Community Highlights: Meet Kathryn Tumpane of Miss K’s Cleaning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathryn Tumpane

Hi Kathryn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in the Midwest and always had a mind for business. From a young age I knew I wanted to own my own business and to be able to help people in some kind of way and try to make a difference. I started working right after I turned 16 and had always worked in customer service industry whether it was in a restaurant, teaching swim lessons/water aerobics, helping people pick out and adjust their glasses, or helping people pick out makeup and feel their very best. I went on to finish my undergraduate college degree in Business Administration at Southern Oregon University. After getting my degree I knew I wanted to own my own business and had an opportunity to clean luxury Airbnb/Vrbo rentals while searching for my “big girl job” after college. I fell in love with cleaning those breathtaking/beautiful home’s and knew I wanted to keep doing that but on a bigger scale and to be able to employe other like minded hardworking people.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
To put it plainly it hasn’t always been a smooth road. There has been many obstacles and there will more to come. That comes with the territory of owning your own business and that is why you have to go into something you LOVE and want to work hard at. Being a small business owner means making those hard decisions and sticking with it. Pushing through and following those dreams/visions YOU believe in!!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Miss K’s Cleaning ?
Miss K’s Cleaning is a small cleaning company that services the south west Michigan area. It started out as an air bnb/Vrbo cleaning service and has now grown into residential cleaning! We are working towards commercial cleanings now as well!! Miss K’s Cleaning is here to help when life gets a little too busy or chaotic and need an extra hand with the cleaning around your home. We try to help a wide range of customers and what they’re able to spend. We offer payment plans, we do as much cleaning or even just specific items you’re needing cleaned. What sets us apart from other cleaning businesses is being able tailor/accommodate each and every customers needs. Other cleaning companies may not take a smaller job that a customers just wants their laundry ran and folded but here at Miss K’s Cleaning there’s no such thing as too small of a job. We are in the business to help people and take some stress off of their plates.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Miss K’s Cleaning is still a young company and we are always looking for investors, donations, and like minded people that want to help others.
