Hidden Gems: Meet Joseph Todoroff of Joseph Todoroff Photography & Videography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Todoroff

Hi Joseph, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My love for cameras originally started when my older brother introduced me to his old DSLR and showed me how to operate one in Manual mode. It always fascinated me how with a slight change of a setting, you can alter an image completely. This fascination never stopped and in high school I was given the task of creating short films for my speech class. My teacher walked us through editing programs and put us in charge of everything from storyboarding, to filming, to editing. This was when I realized I not only had a passion for cameras, but a passion for storytelling in general. In 2021, after trying to pursue a different career path, I decided it was time to get serious about my passion. I purchased my first starter camera and got to work. Since then, my client base has grown tremendously and I see more growth each year. I strive to constantly learn more about what I do, and I hope to have a huge impact on the film industry with my career.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life has been full of ups and downs, and the downs are something we are never ready for. The hardest thing that I have had to face on the business side of things so far was when I split from my original business partner. We owned a video production company together and I had put every ounce of me into it. Over time, we both realized it just wasn’t the best thing for us and we parted ways. To have to basically restart after all of the time and effort put into a business was not the easiest task. But I can truly say that I am thankful for the hard times, because it makes you realize how much you take for granted on a daily basis. God has blessed me and my business tremendously, and I pray that I never lose sight of that.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Joseph Todoroff Photography & Videography?
I am both a photographer and videographer. On the photo side, I specialize in weddings, seniors, and families. I often bring my wife along with me to help with the fine details of the shoot such as posing help, making sure hair is out of eyes, or even making your little one laugh!
The video side is what I hope to grow in the most and make my full time career. I love to film weddings and I feel that video captures so much more emotion than photos do! I also do commercials on the business side, and have worked with several local small businesses to help them gain brand identity and overall grow their outreach to drive sales! I strive to stand out in the industry by being more than just a guy who delivers your videos. I will sit down with you and come up with a detailed strategy on what is going to help your business the most. I aim to get to know you and your passions because you are important to me!

How do you think about happiness?
There are a lot of things that make me happy, but if I had to name a few I would say:

1) My personal relationship with God.
2) My loving and very supportive wife.
3) My two beautiful children.
4) Bringing ideas into a visual reality.

— Oh, and coffee. Coffee makes me very happy.
