Today we’d like to introduce you to Windy Williams
Hi Windy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Everybody wants to start their content journey but few actually take the leap. I like to look at myself as the rookie to this content creator lifestyle. I started maybe a year ago but I was very inconsistent until I decided I want more, I want to create, & I want to build relationships. I’m a single mom to a 5 year old so at first I really wanted the freedom of time that this lifestyle provides so I’d have more time to pour into my son and provide a better life for him and I. I have so many influencer friends and it inspired me to take this route because it’s one thing to see them on social media but it’s another to actually know them in real life, it becomes more attainable in your eyes. I’m still new to this so I’m not where I want to be I have a long journey ahead of me. Ambition and fire is what gets influencers far in this business so you guys will be seeing a lot more of me! I must be doing something right because I got noticed by you guys at Voyage Magazine thank you so much for the opportunity!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Whew! It has not been smooth AT ALL, I struggle and have always struggled with consistency and doubt . I want to create but then at the same time balancing my 9-5 and motherhood sometimes drain my energy and I have no more creativity for the day. Another one of my struggles is finding a niche , sometimes the life you want is what you want to present to social media but I figured out it’s easier and best to just BE YOU. Not everyone is you and that’s your niche.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an aspiring influencer from Detroit, MI. My “niche” is no niche and I believe that’s what I’m known for . I take pride in the fact that I’m not one sided and I show that on my platforms from comedy, lifestyle, hair, beauty, fashion, etc & that’s what sets me apart. No one is 2d, we all have different sides to us and I love displaying that in my content.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I honestly can see my journey taking me far with brand deals, sponsorships, networking opportunities and more. One day I hope to use my influence to create some type of platform for inspiring influencers like me. I would love to get into acting and modeling as the industry expands over the next 5-10 years .
