Hi Jasmine Tiara, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am Jasmine Davis, and I am the owner of Revived Roots (Body and Birth Wellness). I am a Birth Doula, a student massage therapist and student holistic health practitioner at Blue Heron Academy of Grand Rapids. Michigan. I curate ancestral inspired body care products for those who experience mild to severe skin conditions such as: atopic eczema. psoriasis, herpes simplex virus 1 and 2, boils, alopecia, hyperpigmentation, dry skin, arthritis, chronic pain syndrome, shingles and so much more. My brand focuses on improving the quality of one’s life through holistic alternatives. I study African Culture and their holistic remedies to curated formulas to provide my community with the best alternatives for their skin and body wellness. I am always learning so that I can improve my products and teach my community about alternative methods for healing themselves.

I have been in business for a little over one year and I have accomplished so much and still have so much more that I am planning to do. I started Revived Roots because I have a passion in helping people restore their lives and teaching people about alternative methods that are effective yet gentle. I have always had a heart to help and has always been joyous about giving. I also make customized body care products that are catered to my client’s specific wants and needs. I only use essential oils and spices to create scents for my body care products, which also provides even more health benefits not only for your skin but overall health.

I am a Birth Doula; I support birthing parents throughout their birthing journey. I am also a student massage therapist and I plan to provide my clients with Prenatal and post-partum massages. Also, I would like to have therapeutic massages as an option for those seeking another way to experience self-care and use a holistic method to relieve pain and discomfort. I am also a student Holistic health practitioner, and I will help individuals improve their dietary intake to best fit the lives they desire. I look forward to seeing my vision for Revived Roots come alive as well as serve my community.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely NOT! This last year has been rough. With sells some months are better than others and there is always a trial and error with marketing. Starting my business I did not understand the fundamentals of being a business owner. I was full of guesses and was doing whatever it was I thought felt right. Just in this year of 2024 I renamed my business, took an intense 14-week course at SpringGR, I have rebranded TWICE and currently working on a third! I have turned down business partnerships that did not correspond with my vison for my brand, I have had to revamp my products and improve sustainability to be up to par with my 2nd rebrand. I have sought out educational opportunities to advance myself and to help me fulfill my purpose which has brought on a lot more trials than I expected. I have learned that the more I evolve as a woman I find that my brand is reaping the reward however elevating is always a challenge, and no other entrepreneurs really speaks on this.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in body wellness; I curate formulas that involves herbs and oils to create body care products that restores skin health. I am training in Medical Massage Therapy and Clinical Nutrition as well. I am known for my body butters, they are infused with herbal oils and essential oils and whipped to perfection! I am most proud of my progress as a new business owner. I have overcome so many challenges and I am still thriving in my fulfilling my brand’s purpose. My brand Revived roots is set apart from other small body care brands because my brand is customer oriented. My ultimate goal is to provide my community with products that restores their health, confidence and does not cause my clients or brand monetary setbacks. Also, I make all of my own products, I curated my brands formulas from my own research and experiences. I make my products to be beneficial and multiple purposes.

I am a serial bookworm.
I am constantly reading, self-teaching and experimenting with my products to ensure that I have producing the best quality products possible. I have had so many products fail, and I still use them so that I can critique them and to know how to make them better. I am all about making them better than they once were.
