Hidden Gems: Meet Amanda Griffin-Snyder of Wild Three Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Griffin-Snyder

Hi Amanda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a deep love of nature, ever since I was a kid. Growing up, I spent so much time outdoors, whether it was exploring the forest behind our house, playing in fields, hiking or just being in awe of the natural world. That connection to nature has always grounded me, and it’s something I carried with me into adulthood.

When I started working in the cannabis and hemp industries in 2010, it felt like a natural fit because I’ve always believed in the power of plants to heal and nourish and I love working directly with people. I’m also grateful I got to work alongside my husband, Kalle. My work with cannabis deepened my understanding of plant medicine, palliative care and safe access.

In 2017, just after having our second Wildling, we were looking for remedies for Kalle and I but we quickly realized we couldn’t find the remedies we needed—something that combined cannabinoids with herbal medicine, organic, sustainable, effective and transparent—that’s when the idea for Wild Three Co. really started to form. We didn’t set out to start a business, but as we created these products and saw how they helped people close to us, we knew we were onto something. My connection to nature has always guided my work, whether it’s in how we choose ingredients or the way we prioritize sustainability in every aspect of the company. It’s all about respecting and honoring the Earth while sharing its gifts to create something meaningful and effective for others. After we brought in a certified clinical herbalist with decades of plant medicine knowledge to help us perfect our products, we spent about 3 years working on our formulas together. As friends and family tried the products and shared them, demand grew, and we decided to offer them to the public. Our ideas and formulations are driven by our personal needs but are also now driven by the needs of our customers too! Throughout our development, we’ve maintained strict standards for quality and sustainability, ensuring that every ingredient and packaging choice aligns with our values of minimizing harm to the Earth and people.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, of course not! It hasn’t been a completely smooth road, every day we are faced with challenges we must overcome to move forward, but the challenges have been part of the journey and I’m grateful for the lessons. If you choose to be in the cannabis or hemp space there are many regulatory hurdles to overcome to remain compliant. One of the toughest challenges we have faced so far was when we filed for a trademark (at that time our business name was something different) only to find out that someone else had registered a similar name in a similar category after we launched. They had started their company after us too, but legally, they secured the name first. We had already completed all of our packaging and website materials, so having to find a new name and rebrand everything was incredibly difficult emotionally and financially. It was a hard lesson, and for anyone starting a business, I strongly recommend trademarking your name early to protect your assets. Once we changed our name to Wild Three Co. we filed for a trademark immediately for the name and our tagline “Long Live the Wild Ones”. It was so hard to accept we had to pick a new name but ultimately the best thing for our business.

Since we’re committed to creating products that are not only effective but also kind to the Earth, we’ve had to navigate sourcing responsibly without compromising on quality and keeping our prices affordable. This was especially difficult to do while the world shut down in 2020. At that point we had been offering our products in-person to communities in the Bay Area, CA at vendor markets so when the markets shut down we no longer had a way to connect our products to people that needed them. The shutdown also prolonged our online launch for months due to the lack of resources available. We finally were able to work it all out, in perfect timing.

We also work daily on balancing the demands of building a business with raising and homeschooling our three little Wildlings. It can be a lot to juggle, but it’s important for them to see us working together to build our dreams while helping others and to know that they are a big part of it. We’ve always made sure they see that they’re the priority in this crazy, wild journey.

The challenges have taught us a lot and made us even more committed to what we’re creating. Each product takes time, and it’s important to us that we never cut corners.

As you know, we’re big fans of Wild Three Co.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Wild Three Co., we are one of the only brands in the world that combines organic herbal remedies with organic hemp cannabinoids in the way that we do, offering tailored products for both people and pets. Due to our unique proprietary formulations and herbal extraction process we are able to blend powerful herbs with cannabinoids like CBD, CBN, CBG, CBDA and CBGA, creating a synergy that’s rare in the market. This combination offers a level of effectiveness and whole-body wellness that other brands can’t match.

Every product is handcrafted in small batches with intention, using only the highest quality ingredients and sustainable packaging. Working closely with a certified clinical herbalist who has decades of plant medicine knowledge, alongside Kalle and my almost 30 years of combined Industry experience working with cannabis and hemp gives us a strong foundation and perspective on plant medicine and the experience that has guided us in the formulations of our products.

I’m incredibly proud of the trust we’ve earned from healthcare professionals. Doctors, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Naturopathic Doctors, Massage therapists, Psychologist, Therapists, Counselors, Reiki Masters and Holistic Spas not only endorse our products but recommend them to their patients. That kind of support is a true testament to the quality and effectiveness of what we offer.

I’m most proud of how we’ve stayed true to our values throughout this journey. From the beginning, Kalle and I made a commitment to provide safe, effective, sustainable remedies that nurture both people and the planet. Our packaging is recyclable and/or biodegradable, and we donate 1% of our revenue to 1% for the Planet. We work with farms that practice regenerative agriculture and other companies that share our commitment. It hasn’t always been easy, especially in an industry that can be really wasteful, but we’ve stuck to our principles and built something we truly believe in. We’re not just offering products—we’re building a community of people who share our values and care about making positive changes in their lives and the world. Seeing people’s lives improve because of the products we make—that’s what keeps me going. It’s a balance of passion, purpose, and staying connected to nature, and I’m proud we’ve built a brand that reflects that.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Our journey wouldn’t be possible without the support of so many people along the way. Too many to mention. First and foremost, our certified clinical herbalist deserves a huge amount of credit. She brings decades of plant medicine knowledge to the table and helped us bring our vision to life, creating formulas with us that are not only effective but also in line with our values. She is just as intentional and compassionate as we are. Her wisdom has been invaluable in ensuring that we’re offering truly beneficial remedies. She is like family and we are honored to get to work with her!

We’ve also had incredible support from our community, starting with friends and family who tried our products in the early days and gave us honest feedback. They were our cheerleaders from the start, sharing our creations with others and helping spread the word, which really helped build the foundation of the business.

Our customers deserve a special mention as well. Many have been with us from the beginning and continue to provide feedback that we use to refine our products or create new ones. They believe in what we’re doing and have been some of our strongest advocates. It’s a great feeling knowing we’ve built a brand that resonates with so many people who care about their wellness and the planet. We are so grateful to them for their support and enthusiasm about sharing our products with others, because of this they have inspired us to start an Affiliate Program recently.

Our kids are a huge part of what we do. You’ll often see them at vendor markets, where they love to take over the booth and chat with customers. They usually end up kicking us out and taking over! They use our products almost as much as we do and have had a hand in their development so they are really connected to the business in their own way. It’s a family effort, and having them involved makes everything feel even more meaningful.

Lastly, my husband Kalle has been a constant source of support, working alongside me to make this business a reality. From the early days of product development to every challenge we’ve faced, we’ve been in it together, and I couldn’t have done this without him.
