Daily Inspiration: Meet Danielle Boyers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Boyers

Hi Danielle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been artistic & had a passion for makeup growing up. Through the years, I kept up with the beauty industry for personal reasons, by following influencers, learning makeup & new techniques. Once my daughters were born, they started competing in pageants. Overtime, I learned from fellow hair & makeup vendors tips and tricks of the trade. I loved that I was able to do my daughters hair & makeup well. Which led to helping other pageant moms with their daughters’ hair and makeup. I fell in love with the artistry and challenged myself to always do better. The best feeling though, is seeing the joy on a client’s face after the work I have done. What started off as a hobby, ultimately gave me an opportunity to invest in my talents. I have been doing hair & makeup for over 7 years and learned special effects makeup (SFX) within the last 5 years. I am now a freelance hair & makeup artist and feeling blessed that I found work doing something I truly love.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Makeup is subjective and finding the confidence to do makeup was a struggle too. I pushed through those struggles by continuing to work & learn which in turn gets validated by my clients reaction. Like any business, it takes time & investment; all you can do is push through and grow.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a traveling hair & makeup artist for all types of events which include; pageants, photoshoots, weddings and other special occasions. I am known for doing my special effects halloween makeup every October. I am most proud of the self-confidence I have gained through continuously improving my skills & techniques. What sets me apart from others is that I tailor my artistry to my client’s specific needs, wants & facial features.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Yes, I have alot of mentors, supporters, cheerleaders, advocates and clients. My main mentors from competing pageants were Shannon Law and Madonna Durbin. These women have been in the pageant industry for years beyond me & were so helpful in teaching me. Stacey Doty-Mulinex, gave me the opportunity to be her official hair & makeup artist for her pageant system and go-to artist over the years, which helped me grow my clientele. I love all my clients, especially my returning ones, because they know my goal is to make them look better than the last time. My supporters will forever be my kids, family & friends; especially my best friend Lindsay. She has let me use her face so many times as practice & I am forever grateful for her. I love working with great people, I truly meant some amazing people & made some amazing friends from working in this field. I cant forget my uncle who gave me my name “Chooielle” which is Danielle & my nickname Choo-choo combined. I branded my artistry with that name calling my business Studio Chooielle. Lastly, I would say my biggest cheerleader is my husband. He often travels with me to events and helps me when needed. My husband believes in my talents as much as me, and encourages me to be even better every day.
