Hi Lorinda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our business was born from COVID. My husband and I hosted a rehearsal dinner for my nephew. Since we were still in the midst of a pandemic, we were leary of having a lot of people in our home. We decided to purchase a tent to host the event. Everything was so well put together, people asked where we rented the tent? Who decorated? Who cooked? When they found out we did everything, people started asking us to rent the tent and provide other services. So Epic Event Services was born, I guess by accident. That was in May 2021 and we haven’t looked back.

Since then we have expanded our business to provide plenary services to make your event epic. We offer:

Tents – From a 10 x 10 pop-up tent to the 20 x 40 tent and everything in between, Epic Events has you covered. Our tents can accommodate an intimate event too over a hundred.
Linens – We offer an array of colors, styles, patterns, and sizes.
Party Decor – We provide centerpieces, marquee letters, LED lights, LED balls
Draping – We provide ceiling draping, room draping, and decorative draping backdrops
Tables and Chairs – We offer multiple table offerings, multiple color chairs and stools
Inflatable Night Club – Let us bring the party to you. Our inflatable nightclub is perfect for any special occasion. It is perfect for a Halloween party, milestone birthday, and anything in between.
360 Photobooth – We provide the latest music, customized video animation with premier props to elevate your party

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think any business has growing pains and Epic Event Services is no exception. Our business kinda took off, so we have had to adjust and not operate as a “mom and pop shop.”

Social media has been a learning curve. Thankfully, my team is more knowledgeable and has been helping with that.

Another challenge we have faced is being a family business, making sure we conduct ourselves as a business at all times. My husband and sons are a part of our team. Initially, it was just the four of us. Sometimes we want to engage our sons as parents, but they know certain things better than we do in the business. We had to learn to allow them to flourish with their strengths.

What does success mean to you?
Success is completely subjective, in my opinion. What success looks like for you may look completely different for me. It’s all about your goals.

For me, success is providing good work and enjoying the fruits of that work, with the people I love the most.
