Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Sarmento.
Hi Megan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In my mid-twenties, I entered the era of my life that many of us do when all my friends were getting married. I attended and planned showers, bachelorette parties, rehearsals, and weddings for years (including my own!). I loved being part of these events and diving into the details to make it thoughtful, special, and unique to that friend or couple. For my own wedding, I created many of the florals and details such as centerpieces, tabletop decor, the bridesmaid bouquets, and some additional arrangements throughout the venue. Throughout the years, I have dreamed of making this a career and I knew my creativity and care could bring people’s visions to life while making the process enjoyable for future clients.
The first official step toward making my dreams a reality came in June of 2022 when my sister-in-law asked me to lead a 25 person workshop creating floral arrangements for Metta + Moxie (check them out!). I decided to go all in and created an official name, social presence, and register as a business! Here we are more than 2 years later with over 50 events under our belt, including weddings, showers, parties, styled shoots, workshops, and more!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any new business, there have been struggles – of course! From internal battles like self-doubt and imposter syndrome to learning proper flower care and understanding the tools needed, the road hasn’t always been smooth, but it is extremely fulfilling. Mostly, building this business has felt like a fun puzzle for the Superbloom team to truly nail the end result. I am grateful to have had so much support along the way from people passing my name along to others to helping with all the steps it takes to pull off an event. I have also had the privilege to learn from such talented individuals in this community who are willing to share their wisdom and and answer questions along the way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Superbloom is a floral design company specializing in wedding and event florals. We are known for our organic, romantic and garden inspired aesthetic. My team prides ourselves on the level of care we bring to the floral design process — ensuring deep understanding of the client’s vision and going above and beyond in the execution. We work diligently to plan and prep exactly what’s needed to deliver on the vision. Our process allows us to adapt to curveballs and last minute needs that are known to come with special events. We happily make several stops to local farmers and wholesalers to use the most amazing, in season flowers, call in backup for design or setup needs, and put ourselves in a position to zhuzh and take our time with getting those final details into place! Our hearts are invested in those who trust us with their big moments and that’s evident by our proactive communication, planning, and adaptability to do whatever it takes to deliver the shared vision.
What matters most to you?
The thing that matters most to me is delivering the best possible experience for our clients. Fostering a creative, transparent, and inclusive environment for all involved with Superbloom is a big part of that.
At their core, the events we work on are meant to be joyful celebrations – but the road to get there can often be stressful. Not only do we focus on creating an end result even better than our clients imagined, but also making the process of getting there special and personalized.
All of these layers combined make what we do oh so worth it!
