Rising Stars: Meet Anna Frenkel of West Bloomfield

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Frenkel

Hi Anna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! I’m Anna, Anna Frenkel to be exact, which is where the name Frenkelfilms came to be. I know, pretty creative if I do say so myself. I’ve been behind the camera for about 7 years now (still going strong!) and it’s been such a beautiful blessing to do what I love every day. I started as a film major in college, took a photo class in the midst of my college career and absolutely fell in love with it. In 2017 I started my business, my sister being my first model, some friends, and eventually 2019 was when I took my business to the next level and started really taking clients in. I truly love what I do and have met such amazing people through photography.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely some struggles in running your own business, I’ve had a lot of learning curves along the way but also grateful for those as it taught me a lot. Being in a saturated market means some months are better than others and that’s something I’ve had to battle throughout the years.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a lifestyle photographer, I specialize in family photos, newborns, couples, events and more! I I would say I’m most known for family/newborn photos. I’ve been told I’m great with kiddos, and I have a lot of experience with newborns as well, as I worked doing fresh48 photos in the hospital for 5 years. What sets me apart is patience. I am incredibly patient with my clients especially my clients with little ones. I am also known for capturing candids and capturing peoples true essence.

Any big plans?
My plans are to continue to grow my business further. I’d like to do more larger events, and I would love to expand my portfolio further and do more creative shoots. I don’t like to be stuck doing one thing so I truly do a little bit everything and my plans are to continue to do so!
