Today we’d like to introduce you to Staci Rogers
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started photography about 2.5 years ago and I initially started because I wanted newborn photos of my daughter (who was born during Covid) and during Covid photographers weren’t taking bookings so I did it with my cellphone, YES my cell phone. Flash forward to her being a little over a year old, my husband gifted me my first camera, and eventually I built up enough courage to start taking photos of people rather than just nature shots. And here I am a little over 2.5 years later doing photography full time! I’ve enjoyed furthering my education in photography, travelling with it and sharing those photos, and now even down to my single senior sessions and family sessions. I absolutely love what I do, and I love being able to give people tangible memories and moments that they can hold in their hands!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! I think my biggest fear was failing or my photos not being good enough. It took me a while to get the hang of it! I was taking photos of only nature for over a year before I was comfortable enough to even try people that weren’t my husband or my daughter. Without them, I don’t think I would’ve ever elevated past landscapes and buildings!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am most known to be the person with a camera in her hand. If you ask the people who know me, they’ll tell you I’m a photographer. I specialise in seniors, families, engagements and even dabbling in weddings! When people book with me, they’re not just clients. They become my friends, and family that I build a relationship with through multiple interactions. They don’t just get photos, they get a friend, and fun experiences!
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favourite childhood memory would have to be waking up at my Nana & Papaws house to the smell of coffee. My Nana would make me a cup (usually mostly cream and sugar) and sit me infront of the fireplace to warm up. I always remember them sitting in their blue recliners and a small fire in the fireplace. Nana would be knitting or stitching something up, and Papaw would be reading his Bible or studying for Sunday service.
