Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacque Boney.
Hi Jacque, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started playing volleyball when I was 11 in a church league, even though I wasn’t really interested at first because basketball was my true passion. Surprisingly, I fell in love with the game and ended up playing until I was 18. By the time I was 14, I was being recruited and ultimately committed to play at Michigan during the summer before my sophomore year. Competing at Michigan has been an incredible experience, and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The coaching change was definitely a challenging transition, but it pushed me to grow and adapt as both a player and a teammate. Competing in the Big Ten, one of the toughest conferences in the country, has been no easy task. Every match demands the highest level of intensity and focus, but it’s also made me a stronger, more resilient competitor. Despite the difficulties, I’m grateful for the experience and how it’s shaped me both on and off the court.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have some experiences with working including a variety of internships. A couple of my internships include two product management, supply chain, and corporate finance. I have a dream of being a financial consultant for one of the big four firms.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I have moved a ton. I have lived in Pittsburgh, Illinois, New York, Switzerland, Atlanta, Malaysia, and now Ann Arbor. I enjoy living in new places and exploring new things.
