Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Edwina Greenwell
Hi Hannah Edwina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up Art was always my favorite class in school. Which led me to get my BFA when I went to college. In college, I did a lot of community work as a feminist artist. Which helped me gain a lot of connections, giving me opportunities to grow as an artist. I currently work as a freelance photographer, graphic designer painter, and muralist. I began my mural painting career in Juneau, Alaska On the outside of my boyfriend’s families bowling alley. Ever since then my freelance art career began taking off.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When it comes to big projects, I often find myself fighting inner dialogue and anxiety. I’ve struggled with anxiety my entire life, so it is no surprise that painting large murals or having photoshoots with people I’ve never met may be a bit anxiety inducing. Although it has really helped me grow. Not only as an artist, but as a person. To get outside of my shell and do things I wouldn’t normally be comfortable doing.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a photographer, graphic designer, painter, and muralist. I specialize and mainly focus in mural painting. As it gives me the most pride when I complete a project. I enjoy the entire process from picking out the paint, to sketching the design, to the actual painting process. It’s fun to meet new people and find yourself with a new space. It also gives me an opportunity to travel from time to time. I offer colorful, large scale, murals, indoors, and outdoors! My vibrant style is what sets me apart from others.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me success is my own fulfillment of creativity. Every day to me is an opportunity to create. Every day that I am creating, I find myself to be the most successful. Whether I am just doodling or completing a 500 square-foot mural. I feel the most fulfilled when I’m creating.
