Meet Marie Thouvenot of My Loving Mind

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marie Thouvenot

Hi Marie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am Marie. I am French and I’ve lived in the Michigan area for 20 years or so. I moved to the US in my twenties for love and I’m now at the point where I’ve lived longer in the US then in France. I carry both countries in my heart.

I’ve worked in the financial industry for years until Covid hit and I suddenly found myself home, trying to manage two kids doing online schooling. We made the best of the situation as a family, and it was during this time that I realized that I wasn’t too excited about returning to work. I wanted something more purposeful.

Since I had time on my hands, I decided to do a career reassessment with the help of a French professional. After a few weeks of introspection work and personality tests, I’ve been clued in to the fact that working in the area of alternative therapies or nutrition may be a good fit for my personality and skills. That’s when a hypnosis training caught my interest and curiosity.

I signed up and loved it so much that I decided to pursue this route and got certified. I’ve also joined the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and became a life and health coach. I opened my own business in 2022, and I called it “My Loving Mind”.

The idea behind this name is that our mind is always trying to protect us, and by recognizing that, you can team up with it instead of fighting against it.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Only a few months after launching my company, I’ve been hit by a major struggle. I’ve experienced a series of personal losses that left me in deep emotional turmoil. I’ve lost my dad, my two beloved grandmas and a friend of mine within a four-months period.

The grief was overwhelming, and I had to take a step back to take care of my emotional well-being.

Through this journey profound losses, I’ve become even more convinced of the healing power of holding space for all emotions. Sadness for example, sheds light on what’s important to us. We don’t need to try to make it disappear at all costs. We can allow it to be here. It can even coexist alongside with joy.

We’ve been impressed with My Loving Mind, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My Loving Mind is a virtual coaching and hypnosis practice, born from my deep passion for helping people handle stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm.

What makes my approach different is that I focus on accepting what is. Instead of battling emotions like anxiety, sadness, or anger, we learn how to work with them — making them part of our emotional team. It’s amazing how things shift when we stop resisting and start collaborating with our minds.

I offer gentle hypnosis sessions that you can do from the comfort of your home. It’s not what most people imagine when they think of hypnosis. It’s actually super soothing, light, and full of metaphors and stories. It’s deeply relaxing, yet incredibly powerful. These sessions help people lift emotional blocks they didn’t even know were there, allowing them to move forward with more ease.

I also do coaching sessions that are a bit different from the norm. I love using symbolic exercises to help uncover those unconscious blocks. It’s not just about getting rid of obstacles but turning them into allies so you can make real progress toward your goals.

My clients often tell me the work is transformative — not just in how they deal with life’s challenges, but in how they reconnect with themselves on a deeper level.

And that’s what my brand is really all about: reconnection, with yourself, your strengths, and ultimately, your joy.

Recently, I’ve expanded what I offer to include online workshops and virtual co-working spaces. These sessions blend focus-boosting hypnotic meditations with a supportive environment to help you get stuff done and feel good while doing it.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The Covid-19 crisis forced all of us to pause, slow down, and reassess what’s really important. It pushed many to confront emotions we’ve been avoiding — like anxiety, fear, and loneliness. It made it clear how crucial it is to face these emotions head-on, instead of running from them, and to prioritize our mental health.

For me, this reinforced the power of the work I do with hypnosis and coaching. During that time, I saw how much people benefited from having a safe, compassionate space to process their emotions. It became even clearer that learning to work with our emotions, rather than fighting them, is the key to navigating difficult times.
