Hi Travis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve had an interest in cars since I was a kid. When I was 19 years old, I purchased an Infiniti Q50 and I would clean it every week. I’d polish it and wax it and always kept it fresh. I loved the process and loved having a clean car. I started detailing for family and friends and the results amazed them. That’s when I realized this is what I want to do and started Shine Show Detailing. My favorite part of the job is a customer’s reaction!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s a challenge competing with the other detailers around here, they do great work. But there’s plenty of work to go around and things that set us apart. We have built a great clientele that love the work we do.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Networking will take a lot of time. Finding events specific to your industry/niche is very important. Go to every event you can and talk to people! You don’t even need business cards, just converse. Post your business on social media consistently and people will notice.
