Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Proper

Hi Jamie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I made a lot of mistakes when I was young, in my career and personal life. Stability and finding my path always seemed out of reach. I struggled to find myself and somehow always made the next wrong decision. In my early 20’s, I ended up finding a job cold calling for an insurance company, working for one of the biggest names in Real Estate today and found success almost immediately. I have now been in real estate for over 10 years. I fell in love with the rush of the business and quickly found my passion was solving problems and I became so excited about the business I didn’t have to create more for myself. (Thank God lol) I started negotiating transactions for a small team (at the time) and the idea caught fire. I built a team under me who did the same and it allowed every agent on the team to leverage their time and grow their business tremendously. The experience and knowledge I gained with over 3100 transactions under my belt, allowed me to naturally start coaching other agents on how to navigate and control their business and income. Proper Negotiations is everything I have built, bought into, believed in, and preached to get me where I am today. 33 years old and have experienced executing every role of the business at a high level. I am beyond confident in the experience we give both agents, clients, and partners at Proper Negotiations. We know what it takes. Every step of the way, because we lived it and continue to every day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road! Every road block, wrong turn, and mistake taught me something that I implement daily though. Taking things personally in the beginning of my career was by biggest struggle. That, along with thinking like a normal 20 year old, knowing everything and always having to explain why Im right, completely drained me. Once I figured out how to take myself out of the equation, look at every situation from a birds eye view, and became a problem solver, everything changed. Taking every piece of advice given to me to heart and not believing in myself, definitely slowed my growth ad momentum, which is why I so passionately talk to our agents about the importance of knowing their value.
