Meet Kaitlyn Joy

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlyn Joy. Kaitlyn was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Michelle Welsh.

Hi Kaitlyn , we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
I appreciate you asking me! I was born and raised in Michigan. I’m 30 years old and currently live in Lexington. I love to bring out the best in people. Whether that’s through my personal life or my career as a manager of a hair salon. You just never know what someone is truly going through and being able to spread positivity wherever and whenever I can is so important to me.

Please talk to us about your creative work and career. What should we know?
I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for 10 years. I absolutely love what I do. I’ve worked at Great Clips for 3 years and have been in management for 2 years. Making people feel and look beautiful is my passion. It’s so special going through someone’s wedding with them, their first child and grandchild. Every important memory I am lucky enough to get to share with my clients. I don’t tell them this enough, but they make me feel just as special in return. You can check out my work by adding me on instagram @kaitlynnjoyy

Sparked with Purpose has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Sparked with Purpose and your experience with them.
If you were to look at me 5 years ago, apart from earrings, I NEVER wore jewelry. I always immediately took it off. That has completely changed thanks to Michelle. I have multiple pieces from her on every limb now. I don’t even know I’m wearing jewelry.

I first saw her on Facebook, I had been hearing more and more of “permanent jewelry” and became so infatuated. I knew if it was permanent I couldn’t take it off lol! I saw a lot of other permanent jeweler’s pages but Michelle stuck out. The mission of her business meant a lot to me. Dealing with my Dad’s battle of multiple myeloma, I knew I wanted to support Michelle and her business.
I got my first piece from her at my boyfriend’s work at the time. She just so happened to be doing a “pop up” and I was so excited to finally be able to get a piece from her. She was so educated in her craft and very informative and professional. Any question I had, she answered throughly. Her selection is so unique, there’s something for everyone, and it’s always changing.
Michelle is so great to be around, it’s like being around an old friend I’ve known for decades.
Over a year later, her jewelry still remains looking brand new. Untarnished and tough as nails! She most definitely has a customer for life.
