Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikyla Jones

Hi Mikyla, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started doing makeup in January 2020 after I had got a colorful eyeshadow palette for Christmas, I started trying out looks different i could find on youtude to see if I could do it. I don’t remember the month but I had finally got the courage to post my work, and maybe a month into this Canadian brand called dollar lash club took a chance on allowing me to be a brand ambassador even though I only had 200 followers,so I started posting more and then got the courage to apply at Ulta Beauty to be a beauty advisor so I could gain more knowledge, I was with Ulta almost two years and I do occasional freelance events.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has its ups and downs, sometimes you get excited because you got 3k views but then you’re next 6 only get maybe 200 views. It’s a roller coaster but sometimes you gotta sit back and enjoy the ride.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a beauty advisor and freelance makeup artist. I’m a girls best friend as they come to shop and blow off steam. I love to shade match foundation for people because I know the feeling of not being able to find your shade. What sets me apart, I won’t allow you to leave out feeling defeated if we have to try 10 different shades from 10 different brands so be it.

How do you define success?
My definition of success is that feeling you get when seeing someone you love being so proud of you even though you thought you bombed it and they still believe in you.
