Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Delgado
Hi Isabella, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I originally began doing photography my senior year of high school when my best friend needed photos for her Tinder account and I was the only one in our friend group with a “Real Camera”. Realistically I had a Kodak PixPro AZ528 from Walmart, which if you know anything about cameras, isn’t a very good one. We all decided to load up into my car and drive to the park that night to do an impromptu photoshoot. To be honest, the photos didn’t turn out terrible , so I decided this was something I wanted to do and had a passion for. After this, I decided to shoot two of my friend’s senior photos that year, which is when I began gaining some real confidence. Next, I graduated high school and wouldn’t pick up my camera again unless on rare occasions. I was busy with life/school and honestly just felt like there wasn’t anything to take pictures of. My Sophomore year of college I attempted a separate business venture, a jewelry business, called “BeadsoflifeCo.” On Etsy, which I ultimately would close. This then led me to consider other mediums of art to express myself. I ended up sparking my love for photography again and began my new business. From there I begged every one of my friends and family to let me do free practice sessions so I could improve my photography skills.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not, this has taken a lot of trial and error on my end. Things like contracts, booking forms, etc…… are things that never would’ve crossed my mind. I luckily began doing research as soon as I began my business to prepare myself for any challenges I was going to face but some things still managed to sweep my legs out from under me. The biggest struggle I remember about my first year in business was just finding the time to manage everything on my own. I am currently in school at Bowling Green State University and working 2 part-time jobs, so I didn’t have a lot of extra time to mess around with. I soon hired an assistant who would streamline the entire process and not only lift a weight off my shoulders but also ensure a good client experience. Another big mistake I made in the beginning was not having a contract for my clients and myself, I luckily didn’t have anything bad happen at that time, but after doing some research I learned that needed to be taken care of immediately.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business was founded in 2022 by me, Isabella Delgado. I currently specialize in senior photos but cover a wide range of different types of photos, such as concert photography, branding photos, couples, events…etc. My business focuses on being an affordable photography business for everyone. At Bella’s Photography we believe everyone deserves to have their photos taken regardless of their budget, that’s why we aim to have customer-friendly prices. In doing this we can offer up our photography services to people who could never afford to get in front of a photographer before. Also, because we specialize in senior photography, we keep senior sessions affordable for students at any level. I think it’s very important to emphasize that although our services may be affordable, that does not mean they’re lacking in quality by any means. I am very confident in myself and my other 3 associate photographers to tell your story visually and capture your unique moments with professionalism and artistry. At Bella’s Photography, we blend creativity with technical skills to ensure that every photo session results in beautiful, high-quality images that you’ll cherish for generations to come.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Never give up. There will be moments when you feel like quitting, but remember: if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. Just because something didn’t work out the first time doesn’t mean it won’t succeed on the second try. Perseverance is key.
