Meet Stacey Stiebe Chelsea Moore of You + Me Events LLC.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Stiebe Chelsea Moore

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Our story starts with a mother helping her daughter plan her dream wedding. Back in August of 2018, we had put together the dream event for our family and quickly realized how much we loved it and that we had a talent for it. Following the wedding, we began helping many friends with small wedding decoration needs and then it grew to interested outside sources requesting business cards. You Plus Me Events LLC. officially became a family-owned and operated business in 2020. Yes, right before the pandemic hit. We were nervous, but never failed to have faith and hope that we would be successful. During the first year of being “official”, we focused on our goals, had the tough conversations with our family, and all came together to accept the risks of operating a small business. We landed our first full wedding as a small business in November of 2021. We surprised ourselves with how much we enjoyed doing the hard work and seeing the reward of making someone’s dream event come to life. Since that event, we continue to book new clients from all over Michigan and expanded our design work to add Corporate Events, Birthday’s, Baby Shower’s, Anniversary’s, and more, We are locally based out of Lansing, but have traveled to events in Port Huron, Grand Rapids, Grand Haven, and Shelbyville. It’s extremely rewarding to make a dream event come to life and that is all we hope to do.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are many challenges that can come with owning a small business. I don’t know if there is particularly one challenge that stands out from another. However, we are a mother-daughter business that has expanded to all members of the family and some close friends. Being a family operated business, you can imagine our family time, sometimes becomes work time. The positive to this is we truly love what we do and we have loved ones that join in and are extremely supportive. We work well together and can always trust that we will get the job done.

We’ve been impressed with You + Me Events LLC., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
You + Me Events LLC. is a family-owned and operated event design business. We started our business in full wedding decorating and have since expanded to corporate events, birthdays, anniversaries, baby/wedding showers, and more. We are known for our all-service event design process, but many are surprised to know just how much we do when they choose us for their event. We meet with our client several times to get to know their event style. We think of all the details, so the client’s don’t have to and work to narrow down choices for finalizing a design plan. As a business our goal is to make the client’s dream event come to life. Once we have agreed on a design plan, we work with our team to obtain all necessary products and hand make items that are needed. All of our decor is created using high-quality products and we can work with real or silk floral (whichever the client prefers). We create, organize, pack, plan day-of schedule, and coordinate with our team.

We believe the event day is for the client and their guests to sit back and enjoy every moment of the event. We take care of day of installation and disassembling of all event service items. We coordinate with venues to ensure that our team follows the day-of timeline and we take time to get to know the client’s and their families. We have met and worked with many wonderful families over the short time we have been in business and cannot wait to meet more. Our biggest hope is that our clients leave us feeling like family because that’s what we are!

What were you like growing up?
As mother and daughter, our relationship has always been close. Stacey coached Chelsea’s cheerleading team (record of 7 first place wins) and when Chelsea chose to dance fulltime, she became the best dance mom in the world. The creative and competitive nature of dance is what drove Chelsea’s decision, and this makes sense. Stacey is an artist and loves a good competition. Together, we succeed in all things that are creative and competitive. We treat event days just like competitions, our goal is to perform our best work, with the best team. The reward is seeing the faces of our client’s and gaining feedback after their event.
