Today we’d like to introduce you to Kierah Darling

Hi Kierah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ever since I was a little girl I loved anything that had to do with being creative through makeup or hair. I remember watching countless youtube videos of hair/makeup and practicing it on myself. I found it to be something I felt so passionate about before I knew that you could make a career out of it. I was really fortunate enough to have great influences in my life in the world of cosmetology such as my mom and my aunt who both are cosmetologists as well. So I went to cosmetology school right after highschool and once I graduated I found that special occasions especially bridal were something that mainly peaked my interested the most. I jumped right in to it and soaked up as much as I could in the beginning and that is something i’ve specialized in ever since! I absolutely love the space i’m in when it comes to all the people I get to meet and all the wonderful moments I get to be apart of. Hearing everyone’s stories and knowing that you are helping someone’s confidence is what really makes it the most rewarding.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think any time running a business you have ups and downs. However, anything I’ve experienced that could be perceived negatively I take as a positive because it’s a lesson learned. I think any challenge that presented is a chance to pause and re-evaluate and then readjust! I love growing and knowing that with everything I learn it is making me a well rounded business owner who is able to deliver a better experience every time to anyone who sits in my chair.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a hair and makeup artist who specializes in bridal and special occasions. My specialty is soft glam makeup and bohemian hairstyles. My main focus and goal is to really elevate the clients natural features and show them that they are naturally beautiful no matter what hairstyle or makeup style they receive!

I feel so proud when I look back and see where I am today especially when I receive kind messages from people I have been able to work with. I want people to feel good about themselves, and I feel the most rewarded when I know i’ve done just that for someone. I think my ability to connect with others and make it more than just a service you are getting is something that makes the overall experience positive for everyone involved!
