Today we’d like to introduce you to Dave Behm

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by graphic design and advertising. Even as a little boy, I spent more time admiring the packaging of my toys than playing with the toys themselves. I vividly recall our family car rides, where I’d gaze out the window, critiquing the logos on signs and storefronts.

I grew up in the Chicagoland area and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Ray College of Design in Schaumburg, IL. With over 30 years of experience, I remain as passionate about design as ever, finding daily inspiration from other designers.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been a couple of bumps here and there, but they are more mental blocks then anything else. One thing I have learned over time is that you have to always find new ways to find inspiration and try not to get discouraged by seeing other creatives work. The more you practice your craft the better you will get.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I currently serve as a Senior Art Director at Interrupt, a company we proudly describe as a brand distillery. We specialize in transforming our clients’ brands and aligning their marketing strategies to effectively meet their financial goals.

In addition to my role at Interrupt, I run a freelance design business where I collaborate with companies of all sizes, creating a wide range of designs.

I also continue to create personal designs on social media, where I aim to inspire and motivate people to strive to be their best through my designs.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
That I have completed 6 full 26.2 marathons, 1 sprint triathlon, and 3 Tough Mudders.
