Today we’d like to introduce you to Brook Tremblay
Hi Brook, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
November 28th 2014 I had booked a tattoo appointment for my daughter and myself for her 17th birthday. I was working at the health department at the time. We accidently went to the wrong tattoo shop. long story short the owner of that shop offered me an apprenticeship for piercings. I wasn’t sure how that would go but I accepted the position. low and behold I killed It I became very passionate about the industry and was very skilled at piercing. It was a great match for me and all of my personalities lol
The owner of that shop and I became business partners. In March of 2022 there was a dissolution of partnership and I created Cherry Capital Ink as the sole owner. I was allowed creative freedom for decor and had the ability to build my own team and work family.
We have created a family friendly environment with positive vibes and treat all of our clients with kindness love and respect.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I feel like with any business there are going to be challenges. Being a single woman in a mostly male driven industry I think it took a little while to gain respect from other shops in the area. Over the last few years I have accomplished great friendships and working relationships with many artists all over the country.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We offer many services, Custom tattoos, piercings, dermal implants, tooth gems, painting murals, many different forms of art. I am also one of the few in Michigan that is licensed to implant microchips into humans (which is pretty cool) We have multiple artist that each specializes in their own style. We are a very versatile crew! We love turning our clients ideas into art. We also offer support to our community, like hair stylists we offer a listening ear to our customers who need to talk. I find that tattoos and piercings can be used as a form of expression to showcase whatever that client may be going through at that moment in time. Weather it may be a celebration of their sobriety, a loss of a loved one or exiting a domestic violence situation just to name a few.
My daughter and I are both piercers who have extensive experience dealing with children. Cherry Capital Ink is very well know for a child’s first piercing experience. Our family friendly environment is comfortable and calm.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a domestic violence survivor. I do multiple events each year raising money to help our local women’s resource center. I also frequently have local woman reach out to me for guidance, support and advice. I have become an advocate for many woman in our area.
