Hi Ryan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Ryan Suender. I am a Wrestler, Mentor, and Eagle Scout. WebDyno Developers started back in 2023 when I was working at a security guard company. I realized that their website was not up to date. I asked the owner if I could work on their website for them since I had the skills to do it. He said, “Yes,” since he knew me personally, and I was charging a price that he could afford. This got me thinking about other businesses as well, and I wondered if their sites were up to date too. I then dedicated hours of research to looking into other companies in my area that didn’t have up-to-date websites. After making some phone calls, I found out that there were three reasons for this. One, the businesses could not afford a brand-new website at the prices that my competitors were charging. Two, they didn’t know of anyone who they could trust who specialized in website development. Third, business owners didn’t understand that having an updated and secure website is just as important as protecting real-life property. I am currently studying cybersecurity at Western Michigan University. Through my education, I have learned about many different types of cyberattacks and cybercrimes that can take place through a website. As the years progress and the world of cybercrime continues to evolve, these small businesses start to look more and more like easy target practices for new and upcoming malicious hackers. Considering the research that I have conducted, I decided to make a company that is able to give small and big business owners a fighting chance against potential cyber threats while transforming their website from looking prehistoric to futuristic. At the end of the day, people shouldn’t have to worry about criminals trying to steal their data, and business owners shouldn’t have to pay an arm and a leg for an amazing-looking website. Everyone deserves to be safe and look good at the same time. That is why I started WebDyno Developers, to help small businesses.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

It’s been quite a bumpy journey. When the company just started, we hardly had any clients interested in our services. I soon figured out the reason for that was that I hadn’t gotten my name out in the community in person. Let me explain. Though our social media was bringing in a lot of likes and views, it wasn’t performing as well as we thought it should. My team and I started brainstorming about better marketing strategies. After hours of brainstorming and consideration, we decided on in-person marketing. So what I did was to go on Facebook and search “business networks in my area.” When I searched those words, I came across a group with over six thousand active businesses and in-person events hosted by the business owners themselves, exactly what my company needed. After attending some of the events, I personally met a lot of other business owners like myself. This eventually led to getting their contacts so I could schedule a call with them to discuss an estimate for their new website. Another obstacle was that each day brings forth new methods to safeguard websites in the realm of technology. Likewise, when we strive for the perfect aesthetic for our clients’ websites, we must also consider innovative approaches to enhance the user experience and visual appeal.

We’ve been impressed with WebDyno Developers, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

In my free time, I wrestle for the Western Michigan University Wrestling Club and participate in boxing and various other martial arts styles. I believe I am most known for my determination to never give up. What sets me apart from others is when most people give up or say, “I can’t,” or “It’s too hard,” I instead always try to think of a solution, no matter the problem. “I can’t,” or “it’s too hard,” simply do not exist to me. Additionally, I am always reliable, regardless of the day. If someone needs help, I often drop what I am doing to assist them right away, whether it’s midnight or the middle of the day. That is a character trait of mine. If a client, friend, or employee is in need, they become my first priority. I am most proud of my problem-solving skills. For example, if a client wanted to include a specific payment method or a certain design for their website, I would already be considering possible solutions for their request by the time they finished voicing their concerns.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?

When you start your own business or company, you don’t need to know everything in your specific niche because no one knows everything. Everyone likes to give the illusion that they do, but they don’t. There is always something new to be learned. All you can do is learn as much as possible so that you feel confident enough to give %110 to your clients or customers so that they feel safe with your service or product. I say this because that is one of the most common excuses people tell themselves as a reason for starting their own business. I hear comments like, “I don’t know a lot about that niche,” or “I can’t do it because it’s too much of a risk.” Ask yourself, do you think other business owners didn’t have that same exact thought in their minds when they started? They definitely did, every single one of them. The only way to create change in your life is to start with yourself and only you.
