Meet Jenna Arcidiacono of Amore Trattoria / Food Hugs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Arcidiacono

Hi Jenna , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Maurizio and I met in 1999 in San Francisco while he was visiting from Italy with his best friend. A year later we were married in Italy. We had 2 amazing daughters in 2003 and 2007. We started Amore in 2010 so it’s our 14th anniversary this year!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I am sure we aren’t the only one to mention how tough COVID was on our little business. But we pivoted and turned our fine dining restaurant into a parking lot drive through. It was one of our most profitable years. We sold over 500 half pans of lasagna on Mother’s Day and had to rent a refrigerated truck! And from the devastation of COVID came my non profit FOOD HUGS

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Amore is specialized in authentic Italian Cuisine. We often go to Italy to get inspired! Our arancini and lasagna are what we are known for. Food Hugs is our non-profit where we bring joy to others through food. We have crowd funded and surprised over 65 local servers/businesses with $1,000 tips. Brought meals to front line workers and families suffering loss. We have given scholarships to females who want to be chefs.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Learning to adapt in many ways but remembering that showing grace & kindness is the most important thing in the world.
