Check Out Damon Bradley’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Damon Bradley.

Damon Bradley

Hi Damon, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Born and raised in Detroit. Product of the west side of the city. Graduated from Cass Tech high school. After high school i was lost. Barely graduated, no future plans. I stumbled into broadcasting at Specs Howard school of broadcast arts, and i saw some light. Specs helped me to learn to talk on the mic, produce commercials, basic editing. I worked in radio over the years. Met some amazing people. Started a family and am a proud father of some amazing individuals. Currently I’m part owner of Shoptalkpodcast studios and one half of Shoptalk podcast. I’m enjoying doing some amazing things with some inspiring and amazing people.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Hell no the road is rough as hell. I’ve lost money, and family. Squandered opportunities, and made more mistakes than i can count. Trying to be successful is a lonely road because no one can see your path but you. During this process i got divorced. Had failed relationships with women i thought would be my forever. OST at least 2-3 jobs. Lost both my parents and had a very serious health scare myself. The only thing that’s kept me is my faith in God, and telling myself that no one was coming to save me. If i wanted a better life or to achieve anything it was up to me

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I look at myself as an over all creative. I’ve been a visual artist, rapped, podcaster. Been behind the camera. Really I’ve dabbled in a bit of everything. I’m most proud of my accomplishments with Shoptalkpodcast, we have recorded 423 consecutive weeks. We are the model of consistency. What sets us apart is. Ring consistent and resilient. My partner and i have endured everything life can throw at us. We’ve watched over 200 other podcast walk through our studio doors. No matter what we’ve gone through personally or professionally we connect weekly to drop amazing content and i don’t see us stopping anytime soon.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The biggest lesson is learning how to pivot and adjust. We all have an idea of how we envision our lives to go, and life rarely ever works out that way. We learned to adjust our business model. We had to get creative when it came to recording or content. Sometimes recording remotely. We had to tighten our belts up because we literally could not get access to the studio to service clients. But rent is still due the first of every month bit was a challenging time. But we never gave up and made it through.
