Hi Elvira, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Elvira, and I’m a Licensed Esthetician in America. I have my cozy studio and an Instagram blog about Skin Care. I started everything from scratch in September 2022. What was before that? Before that, I lived in Ukraine. I began working as an Esthetician while studying at Medical University. I am a MD Dermatologist Venereologist.

In 2014, I graduated from University and planned to work in my hometown Donetsk. But then the war began… For a while after that, I had to move from city to city, searching for a safe place to live. After graduating from the University, I worked in a clinic for some time. Then, I had two wonderful children, and I dedicated a lot of time to them. However, I needed to continue moving forward in terms of my professional development.

I completed multiple Esthetician training programs. I have worked as an Esthetician and Injection Specialist in Ukraine for the last few years. In 2022, a full-scale war broke out, and I left everything behind and immigrated to the USA for the safety of my family and my children. And… I started everything from scratch in September 2022…

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a volunteer of the Creative Society project, which is active in 180 countries worldwide, I reached out to volunteers of this project in the USA for assistance. The mission of our project, the Creative Society, is to draw the world’s attention to the global climate crisis, analyze its causes, and seek solutions.

Volunteers of this project gladly welcomed us to the USA and helped us adapt during our initial period. My first goal was to obtain an Esthetician license so I could begin working. I began preparing for the licensing exams. The main challenge I encountered was the English language. While I had some knowledge of English, my proficiency level was not sufficient.

I diligently prepared for the exams while simultaneously improving my English skills. By the way, I recently completed the English Plus course at Troy Education Center. Thanks to my teacher, Deborah Hills. It was an amazing course!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in Skin Care Treatments such as Deep Pore Cleansing, Anti-acne facials, Custom Facials tailored to individual needs, Chemical Peels, BioRePeel, Carboxytherapy, and Waxing. Additionally, I provide consultations on daily skincare routines, during which we identify the client’s concerns, discuss the necessary active ingredients and their purposes, select facial care products, and develop a personalized skincare regimen.

My goal is to promote healthy skin for my clients. It’s important to me to educate each client so they understand why and how they perform each step in their daily skincare routine. My main principle is “less products, more benefits”. I believe that achieving results doesn’t require pouring tons of cosmetic products onto the skin. It’s more important to properly select active ingredients. This is what I do – Smart Skincare.

One of my biggest achievements is successfully transitioning my career to a new country. Despite the challenges, I obtained my Esthetician license and built a thriving practice from scratch in the USA. I’m truly passionate about all things skincare.

I also enjoy conversing with my clients. It’s amazing to realize how many wonderful and interesting people there are out there! We are all different, but what unites us is the common goal of living in happiness and joy!

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
What’s amazing is that most people who know me may not know that I also have a passion for watercolor painting.
