Today, we’d like to introduce you to Diana Maceda Bravo.

Diana Maceda Bravo

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Since I was a little girl, I always thought I could run my own business in order to make a living, but I did not know what kind of business it would be. I usually dreamt about having a company where I could develop my creativity and ideas.

Little by little, I realized that I was good at design and organization. That idea was supported when I heard people say I had good taste in decorating my house. With that in mind, I started giving people little advice on how to decorate their family gatherings and how to organize their social events.

Then, due to the fact that I received compliments and good comments on my work, in 2009, I finally decided to found my own business as an event coordinator, which was a dream that came true. Nowadays, your events become ours. You can leave everything in our hands: coordination and planning of the whole event, table linens, chair covers, decoration, catering, master of ceremony, waiters, security staff, and much more.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey has not been easy. At first, I needed to find out how to buy all the materials to start running my business and promote my services. Then, the few clients who trusted me started spreading the word with their relatives and friends. Later, little by little, more people called me to decorate and organize their events.

Every event was a challenge and a new opportunity to show other people the quality of my work to get more future events. On the other hand, one of the main struggles that I encountered in the past, or even now, is that people think that this is something easy and that it will not be expensive. Thus, we have had the necessity to educate our customers.

We need to make them understand that our services are worth the price they pay. Sometimes people would say, “It’s only balloons”. However, they do not know or see all the effort and expenses behind the scenes: labor, design, materials, the time you spent creating and developing a whole theme, linen, laundry, set-up, and breakdown, among many other things.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe you can tell us more about your work next?
My business is dedicated to providing organization, planning, and decorating social and executive events. When it comes to organizing and planning events, we are in charge of contacting all vendors and making arrangements with other professionals such as DJs, photographers, make-up artists, musical groups, and restaurants, among other services.

We also provide some extra services such as security staff, servers, and the master of ceremonies. This also includes creating a schedule for every situation. Regarding the decoration, we make every event a unique experience based on the customer’s requests, preferences, theme, and budget. That is why I am very proud of myself and my business.

I am a Latina who has knocked and opened different doors in order to pursue her dreams. That is why Maceda’s Events is a business that has been growing every year. Our commitment, dedication, responsibility, punctuality, and professionalism have made Maceda’s Events the go-to business for many people.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I have always been talkative and sociable. Since I was a little girl, I loved dancing to any kind of music, and I still do.

My character has been very strong. I always defend my point of view. I have been very responsible and organized all my life. I love taking control of what I do. I am a perfectionist. My family is everything.
