Conversations with Payton Aughnay

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Payton Aughnay.

Payton Aughnay

Hi Payton, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in Lansing, Michigan, most of my childhood; I would visit Chicago somewhat often because my parents had split when I was young.

I had always loved the city, fashion, and the fast paced lifestyle. I wanted to make it into my everyday life when I grew up… since I’ve got my high school diploma,I became a freelance model.

Now, I am hoping to get signed; that is the main goal!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Most of the struggles have just been mental constructs and lots of self-doubt. Therapy helps with managing these and helps me learn to clear my mind of negative thoughts against myself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Being a good model could mean so many different things, but the most important to me is being a part of such a strong industry and a broad network of opportunities.

I love meeting new people, fashion, and showing off a little attitude now and then. Making new connections with people and coming together for collaborations is so gratifying. I believe it set me apart from others that I will always say what is on my mind, truly.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Within the next 5 to 10 years, I can’t expose EVERYTHING but I’d like to be the owner of a modeling agency and an event promoter by creating my own casting network.
