Check Out Sharmin Tanim’s Story

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Sharmin Tanim.

SHARMIN TANIM

Hi Sharmin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your back story.
Violets is a non-profit organization that mostly works with female entrepreneurs. We help them with promotions and arrange online and in-person fairs and showcasing. I started my journey around 2020 during the time of COVID-19. We have a private online group; currently, we have 6.5k members there, and currently, I am working with 25 female entrepreneurs for the year 2024.

Every year, we select female entrepreneurs by voting based on their product’s qualities and reviews. Most of these female entrepreneurs are from different parts of the USA. This year, we arranged our 3rd Violets Eid Fair. We have a total of 30 vendors. There were nine female entrepreneurs from different states of the USA, which helped them to create new networking and in-person connections with their clients.

Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
It was not that easy at 1st. First of all, I am a medical professional. I am a program director for a food and allergy clinic, and Violets is a totally different organization that solely works with females.

The struggle that I faced with Violets was financial support, which made it approachable to every sector.

Plus trained those females how to become more confident about the social media platform.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Earlier I was a medical program director for food allergy, I treat food allergies in pediatrics. The most common food allergies are peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, and eggs. We desensitized their body so they can tolerate any foods at the level of cross-contamination.

Other than that, I would love to see myself open an in-person training center for women. Conduct fairer for females throughout the USA to promote Bangladesh and our culture.

The proudest moment for me to represent Bangladesh among everyone.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My best childhood memory is visiting my grandparents’ home after the final exam every year and spending time with my cousins and grandparents. Life was so simple back then.
