Meet Brittane Royal-Harris

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Brittane Royal-Harris. Brittane was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Cindy Eggleton.

Hi Brittane, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
I was introduced to Brillaint through Karlita at the Martin Park Hub during the pandemic. My girls started off with the literacy stem programs that were offered at the time. I believe it was stories and stem to be specific. They also participated with arts and scraps via zoom. I was so appreciative of the opportunity to have the kids engage in something besides the TV. Let me tell you Karlita was persistent and made sure the kids had the needed supplies and were on each call! I just knew we were in the right place because you could tell she genuinely cared for my babies!

Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
In my profession I have to deal with the needs of people as well. If you work in any area of service you know each person and situation can be different. So.when my kids are involved I look for similar traits that I show my clients. Some of those traits include being devoted, solution-focused, and caring. I named these traits because the Martin Park Hub embodies all of this! They are focused on our babies and how they grow. One thing for sure is to really impact a persons experience you have to be MORE than solution-driven. Being just driven to do something can sometimes be conditional. Our children deserve to be in environments where they see the glass as half full and are constantly being poured into. I LOVE Martin Park staff and what this program and these people have given to my children. I can always count on a positive opportunity to learn, a safe place, and a warm plate (shout out to Janet ❤️).

Brilliant Detroit has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Brilliant Detroit and your experience with them.
Behind a great staff is an even greater leader! Cindy is kind, passionate and about ACTION when it comes to growing Brillaint Detroit! I have said this a million times and will say it a million more, where can you find FREE and SAFE programs that Brillaint offers?! My children participate in martial arts, literacy programs, science and free field trips! This also is not just a summer fling. My babies are at the Martin Park hub Monday through Thursday getting poured into! If you are blessed enough to have a conversation with Cindy you can feel how dedicated she is to this movement. Detroit is a hidden gem that is filled with talent and pure Brilliance! The vision Cindy has to grow the number of hubs and accessibility alone stands out.
