Today we’d like to introduce you to Dejah Williams.
Hi Dejah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started modeling when I was in college. I had a modeling profile on “Model Mayhem” and met my first photographer who I am still friends with today. He taught me a lot about the industry and wanted to help me grow. I started working with different staffing and talent agencies, doing promotions for different brands. I have worked many shows and conventions, including the Auto Show, Autorama, and many different car shows. I have worked for many alcohol and liquor brands such as Hennessy, Bacardi, Dusse, Grey Goose, and the list goes on!
I stopped taking the industry seriously because I was getting sold dreams that never happened. I got tired of people saying that they could help me grow, but in the end, it got me nowhere. I stopped modeling for a while because, in 2015, I had a handsome baby boy who changed my life. He made me want to follow my dreams again because I wanted to do it for him and set an example to truly be whatever you want to be. I encourage him to always follow his dreams because we all have gifts and talents, and I do not believe in hindering them from the world.
I started modeling again and ended up finding my own way. I created a brand, Itti Bitti, which is a clothing brand for women of all shapes and sizes. It is not only a clothing brand but many entities that I have up my sleeve. I have plans for it to grow into more than just clothes. I am currently rebranding Itti Bitti and plan to have “drops” pretty soon.
As of where I am at today, I am a social media fanatic. I call myself a “CREATIVE” because I get inspired by the simplest, craziest, smallest things and can bring them to life. I am an entrepreneur, model, influencer, and content creator. I believe I am a whole mood and a whole vibe. All I love to do is be a mom and CREATE! I am collaborating with other creators and am coming out with the dopest visuals. I can’t wait for the world to see!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always some obstacles, of course. There are people who make promises they never intended to keep. They like to sell you dreams. It can be a dirty game, but you have to learn to know who you are to pick yourself up.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I call myself a “CREATIVE” because everything can be art to me. I can visually see things some people may not be able to see. I am currently working on “video visuals,” which are “music videos” that showcase my acting skills and feelings. I can listen to certain songs and imagine a whole music video in my head. I am working on bringing that to life.
I am also a brand ambassador for different alcohol/liquor brands, which consists of promoting the brands.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I feel that being yourself is very important to success. I also feel that being personable and relatable is important.
