Hidden Gems: Meet Nell Alexander of Lucky’s Oil

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nell Alexander.

Hi Nell, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today. 
Where do I honestly begin? From being an overlooked inner-city student-athlete at Cass Technical High School to transforming into a former NFL prospect from a small division II school at Saginaw Valley State University, to now molding into a full-time Prototype Engineering Technician as well as a small business co-owner of Lucky’s Oil, has been an emotional roller coaster but with God and all the support from my family and loved ones I was able to take one step at a time, with discipline, focus and consistency and continue to progress each and every day into a better man/person, and excel in all aspects career-wise, physically and mentally as well. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely nowhere near an easy road to my path of success, and yet I have a lot of more things that I want to accomplish. I embrace all of the good with the bad in my life on my way to creating the lifestyle I want for myself. I’ve had a lot of emotional struggles that a lot of people won’t see, nor will I really speak upon, but the main thing I made sure of was that I didn’t break! Lost a lot of people along the way that I thought would always be with me but everybody that starts with you isn’t meant to finish with you; that’s just how life is. 

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Lucky’s Oil?
First and foremost, I hope this finds everyone doing well, so I invested in a natural skin/body product company called Lucky’s Oil with my childhood friend, more like my brother, Kaleif “Lucky” Gaines. We partnered together early May of this year (2023) and have been taking the market by storm ever since & have begun to start selling essential natural soaps, body butters, hair growth oils & skin oils with more additional products in the near future. We have great quality for more than affordable prices starting from $6 to no more than $25 for each product. Again, all ingredients are natural, and we keep everything on hand as well as online at a limited supply. Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Every loss is a lesson, and that there will always be trials and error when running a business and just for life in general. You just can’t take it personal because someone else will always have it harder than you do, rather you like it or not.
