Today we’d like to introduce you to Sammi Antosz.
Sammi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Of course! Thank you for taking time to hear and share my story. I believe the more we share, the more we realize how relatable we ALL are. It’s beautiful to see how someone’s journey came to fruition and shows us what’s possible in life!**
I became a stay-at-home mom of 2 under 2 in Jan 2022. It was never the original plan; as fortunate as we were to keep one parent of our household home, I lost who I was before becoming “Mom.” I missed the commute to work, the ritual of grabbing coffee before I started my shift, fostering relationships with coworkers & guests, and if I’m being honest, I missed making money! I started thinking of ways to contribute financially to my family while keeping the title of SAHM. Everything I thought of didn’t feel 100% right because it lacked freedom of creating my own schedule, which was crucial for me.
Fast forward to Aug 2022, I saw permanent jewelry all over social media. I HAD to have one of my own. I ended up at a grand opening event where they had a permanent jewelry pop-up. I was ridiculously excited. I picked my chain, sat down to get sized, and in less than 5 minutes, had a bracelet that was permanently welded! It was amazing.
As I sat there admiring my new piece, the thoughts uncontrollably flooded my mind. This was it. I decided to start my own permanent jewelry business!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wish I could say there’s been some adversity just to let others know that there may be speed bumps (or let’s be real because we’re in the Midwest, potholes) in the road that you navigate and overcome.
But this is a different story. This is about being incredibly clear and aligned with what I wanted next, that my dreams were and are manifesting before my eyes!
When you own your own business, it’s all on YOU. Knowing the success of this new chapter was dependent on me; I believe these things helped keep my road smooth:
Identifying Adorn’s core values
Building a brand statement
Defining our mission & promises
Creating an outreach strategy
Having these as a guide has kept me focused, motivated, and determined!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a licensed esthetician and worked several years of retail management. These careers have one thing in common: servicing others. That decade plus of work focused on employee & community development along with customer experience & satisfaction truly set me up for success to provide an elevated jewelry service to the community that continues to grow.
Permanent jewelry is custom chain connected with a small metal ring (jump ring), which is then safely welded. Because there is no clasp to take it on and off, it’s called “permanent.” I curate all chains, charms, and connectors. The fun part is bringing our guests’ vision to life! We work together to create meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces.
What sets us apart is our brands desire to create what our community following wants. We post polls and question boxes to social media and read every review to collect feedback. We filter that feedback with our core values to make business decisions that support us and our guests! Fostering this relationship builds trust and keeps our offerings fresh.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
We hope this story inspires you to do what you love! It doesn’t matter if it’s as a hobby for fun or as a career to make money – spend time doing what brings you joy and fills your cup up!
