Today we’d like to introduce you to Niko Davis.
Hi Niko, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
For me, my journey to becoming a model was untraditional, to put it in the best way. First off, I’d say some part of why I started modeling is because confidence was something I wanted to expand on with myself because of the experiences I went through as a kid because my parents had split while I was young, and that took a huge impact on me cause I was really outgoing and charismatic, but I got into a shell after that not talking as much and so on… Also, I had an HS Puppy love situation that I could now say made me better so much better as a person in general because now my perspective on everything is different. Although all that happened, I use modeling as a way to express that everything I take a picture or walk on the runway, I can let all that go and be that young kid I used to be.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some struggles that have came so far are just trying to find a brand for myself or my personal image but also, at the same time, making it something that has that “It” factor. For me, I’m not tall, so handling that in this industry can be kind of hard, especially cause I’m not the traditional model which is 6’0 slim, and good looking but lucky there’s tons of different types of modeling like commercial that has looser expectations for you body. Additionally, for me I really find posing hard simply because I’m the type of person that likes variety myself, and posing right for me is a little hard to add that variety I really find myself doing the same things, but that’s where more research on other male models and taking inspiration is important, one model that comes to mind I really admire is Luka Sabbot honestly he is just a walking savant he can just be eating and it’ll just look appealing lol, but I just like his New York style because he doesn’t wear the normal clothes you’d normally find in stores for men or that you would expect a man to wear.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I work in construction right now with my dad. It’s an entrepreneurship, so being able to learn from family makes everything a little easier to learn. Also, I’m in school right now to become a licensed contractor in the state of Michigan, along with trying to pursue my career in modeling. Furthermore, I’ve recently been introduced to the BA (Brand Ambassador) work recently and the experience was really cool, I like to interact with people and see how they’re doing as well as feel the different energies of people. I find it interesting. Additionally, I’m really into gaming like every other boy growing up gaming was a big part of my childhood; growing up, I liked sports games and Call of Duty and stuff like that; the games helped keep me sane and was my escape from the reality I was living at the time. Which is why I want to also stream at some point in my life cause it’s a mix of what I like to do, which is interacting with people as well as gaming.
What are your plans for the future?
Future plans I plan to move out of Michigan when I get older, I’d say around 25-28, but probably somewhere West Coast been a dream of mine for a while to live somewhere in Arizona, maybe Tucson or Phoenix, simply because I cannot stand the cold weather at all. Additionally, I want to be signed by multiple non-exclusive agencies as either a model or actor. I can now say that through the great coaching of my coaches at JC and my supportive system that I am signed with one agency, MMG NY, I was able to be blessed with opportunity through the amazing IMTA convention this past June I attended in New York. Lastly, I see myself as a licensed contractor for the state of Michigan
