Community Highlights: Meet Laura Franco of the FACE PRO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Franco.

Hi Laura, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Ukraine and moved to Chicago in late 90s. It has been an interesting adventure even since. I really had no plan when I moved here, but was hoping for success and radiant future. It definitely took some time for me to feel at home in US. Away from my family and everything I knew. Years flew by, and I was semi-fluent in English and had a goal of becoming a business owner and create job opportunities for creative people, especially immigrants like myself. I started doing makeup here and there, at the same time working multiple daytime jobs to support my dream. I met incredible people on the way, who became not only colleagues but true friends! Now I can happily say my goal is fulfilled and flourishing. I am so lucky to have the most amazing beautiful clients and the most talented, relatable, and strong makeup and hair artists working with me. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, and I had to face some difficulties just like any other person. Looking back at it, I consider it a lesson learned, and I can probably deal with any situation that might arise.

I specialize in South Asian bridal hair and makeup. And every time I work with a bride and the family, it’s a very special treat for me and my artists to be a part of the magic! I am so appreciative of the clients trusting me with one of the most important events in their lives. Every bride is unique and very precious. Really a blessing. I am booking multiple destination weddings for 2024, and that makes me excited even more. I am very proud of all the hard work I’ve done to get where I am now. At the same time, it’s not in my nature to stop, and I have many plans and ideas for future projects.
