Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Martinez. 

Hi Samantha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My child’s 1st birthday (2020) really blossomed my creativity. I knew I wanted to make his birthday decorations myself, so I bought my first machine, a Cricut. From there, I kept using it to make shirts and customize drinkware for close family and friends, but it wasn’t until 2021 that I actually started Fonts + Knots. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe that it’s truly been a smooth road for the most part, but I will admit that, at first, I struggled with self-doubt. Regardless, over time all of those thoughts I had trouble managing became indifferent to me as I got more comfortable with my craft and with believing that my work was worth others’ hard-earned money. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Fonts + Knots prides themselves on bringing Northern Indiana the trendiest items, such as drinkware, tote bags, and other accessories, all while spreading kindness and positivity at the same time. Our mission is to create a safe space for everyone, and we are genuinely so thankful to have been given the opportunity to do so. 

We first started off using only a cricut maker to make our best-selling item which is our drinkware and graphic t-shirts. A few months later, we were able to add other services. Now we own and use an embroidery machine, sewing machine, and a sublimation printer. Having these machines allows us to make higher-quality apparel, tote bags, phone cases, mouse pads, scrunchies, and wristlets with the freedom to make much more. We are proud to say that more than 95% of the items we offer are all handmade by our owner, and items outsourced are also made by other small business owners, which we are more than happy to support as well.
