Princess, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I founded Classique Gifts and Bakes, LLC in 2015 in Canton, Michigan, with a vision to create new and innovative spins on classic bakery products. I grew up in a household where cooking and baking from scratch with natural ingredients was essential, and this became part of my everyday life. The aroma of freshly baked bread lingering throughout the neighborhood from my family’s very small bakery was too much to resist. I got motivated one day during my tween years to bake a cake the first time… this turned out to be a total epic failure and embarrassment! The cake had an incredible tasty flavor due to all the ingredients I could get my hands on from the pantry to the fridge, but the texture was a big mystery to myself and everyone that tasted the cake. I wasn’t sure what to call it, a hard biscuit cake or just a hard tasty thick cracker. I didn’t allow that to deter me, so I was determined to solve the mystery and redeem myself of this mysterious cake! I continued experimenting and began to understand the science behind my style of baking, and with that, I was inspired to create recipes from scratch. My focus was to combine old-fashioned natural ingredients while ensuring the highest level of quality, elegance in taste, and excellence in every inclusive signature creation.
With encouragement from family and friends, optimism, hard work, and an innovative mindset, I set off to showcase a variety of baked goods at my local farmers’ markets, provided catering services to clients that I met, and eventually joined the Meijer store family (through their new brand of stores: Capital City Market and Rivertown Market), with hopes of expanding. We are grateful that they embraced our Brand and grateful for the partnership that we have.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course, it hasn’t been a smooth road. There were a few challenges along the way. Some of which were constantly coming up with delicious inclusive recipes and trying to explain to customers that I met during the first days of farmer’s markets that Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Sugar-Free baked goods were equally tasty and good for them! We also encountered some roadblocks when it came to selling our products in stores (this could’ve been due to being fairly new at the time and also introducing the kind of products that we were making).

Classique Gifts and Bakes LLC is a Bakery founded in Canton, Michigan in 2015. We specialize in creating inclusive baked goods for all. We are known for our Specialty Diet Baked Goods, namely: Vegan /Sugar-Free/Gluten-Free / KETO / Allergen-Free and also Traditional.
We pride ourselves in providing our customers with baked goods that contain NO- PRESERVATIVES. Our Recipes are made from scratch and with care for every product we make. We are Proud of staying true to being inclusive with our recipes in order to provide delicious baked goods for anyone with any dietary need.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was very outgoing, curious about how things worked, and had a passion for exploring my abilities in the creative world. Be it acting in school plays, singing, dancing, or creating recipes. I have always been a people person and love to meet people from all walks of life. I care about being involved in charitable works.
