Meet Matt Rogien of Triple4’s

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Rogien.  

Hi Matt, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Triple4’s is a company founded by two college students who have been working on the same mission since 2020. Our goal is to combat assaults statistics nationwide and revolutionize the self-defense industry. Most people currently carry around these unattractive, bulky pepper spray devices that often end up in their purse or backpack. By the time an attacker gets to them, they can’t get it out in time. Through intensive customer discovery work (NSF I Corp Program), we have conducted over 150 plus surveys with our target market (College women between the ages pf 18-25) and have uniquely designed a device around our target markets preferences. The device that will be launching on the market this year is a more convenient, fashionable pepper spray device and, when activated, sends the users current location to their emergency contacts when activated. We are in the midst of partnering with the world’s largest pepper spray manufacturer. Due to an NDA in place, we are unable to disclose their name at this time. They will handle our manufacturing and distribution and run marketing campaigns. In the meantime, we have launched a clothing line. Our brand name sells itself regardless of the product it is attached to; 444 is an angel number that stands for protection and is a popular symbol amongst our target demographic. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have changed our product 3 times and had to change our brand name 3 times as well. Product development has been the hardest part so far. It has never been a straight path for us, but we have learned a lot from all the struggles. 

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
444 is a brand and the first venture is to revolutionize the self-defense industry. We have showcased our initial prototype at CES Las Vegas, where we made numerous valuable connections. We are in the midst of partnering with the world’s largest pepper spray manufacturer, and once this is in place our brand has the potential to be recognized nationwide. Our second venture is currently on the market, a clothing line selling online and also in a retail shop in downtown East Lansing called More Than Vintage 

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is impact and how much positive impact I can make on the world. I created this brand to make something bigger than myself and benefit humanity in creative ways.
