Community Highlights: Meet Kathy & Brad Walker of Mid Michigan Powersports Swap & Show

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathy & Brad Walker. 

Hi Kathy & Brad, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Come to the Annual Mid-Michigan Powersports Swap and Show! We are excited to bring this even to all power sports lovers! We are highlighting snowmobiles this year (antique, vintage, classic, unique, new, and race) and welcoming all power sport units. We will have show categories with great prizes, and swappers can bring units, parts, memorabilia, and more to sell. We will have hourly door prizes, food trucks, the Gas Alley Lounge will be open, Friday night we will have live entertainment also, we will have a warming tent with swag and goodies, and so much more! We have such a huge following that this show should be quite big! We have been in the vintage snowmobile world for quite some time and in the race world as well. Also, we are into the dirt bike scene as well as the side-by-side scene. Should be exciting and fun! 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
So far, so good! The support we have received is amazing, and we are getting great feedback on this even thus far! The main struggle (that we hope won’t be a struggle!) will be the weather. It’s schedule for Friday and Saturday, November 3rd and 4th, 2023, and as you know, the Michigan weather can be unpredictable. We will have a warming tent, and the Gas Alley Lounge will be open if folks need to warm up and make sure you dress in layers just in case! 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We promote and host an annual power sports swap meet and show where different classes win prizes. We feature all things power sports and invite enthusiasts to bring their machines (snowmobiles, dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, UTVs, side-by-sides, and more!) to display, sell, or just plain show off. Also, we invite everyone to sell their machines, parts, collectables, and memorabilia. We are known for being enthusiasts of antique, vintage, classic, new, unique, and race machines. Our annual swap and show will offer so many different fun things to see and do! All at the Birch Run Speedway and Event Center. 

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk-taking.
We are taking a risk by committing to promote and host this annual show. We are hoping to make this huge! The biggest risk with this will be the weather, as our event dates are Friday and Saturday, November 3rd and 4th, 2023. We are hoping for great weather! We anticipate a large crowd, so that would help so much! 

Pricing:

• Swappers $50/day per swap spot (no size limit/1 trailer per spot)
• Swappers and Spectators $10/per person per day
