Check Out Serita Crowley’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Serita Crowley.

Hi Serita, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started out singing in the Church at an early age. Later on, I met my life partner Jon Hayes, whom plays guitar in my full band. (Serita’s Black Rose) I’m also known as Black Rose. We often perform together as a duo everywhere we can when we’re not performing with the full band. My band consists of the amazing Robert K Pace on the Bass(vocals), Jon Hayes on Guitar (vocals), Mark Weymouth on Drums, and Serita Crowley (Black Rose) on lead Vocals/Harmonica. I’m also in the production The Music That Raised Us, created by the talented Sarena Rae. I’m where I am today because I tirelessly give my all to my music career, and Jon Hayes works with me as a team doing everything that we have to do to keep on forward to brighter and better future endeavors in the music industry!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Well nothings ever smooth sailing in anything, especially the music industry. There have been a few things, but nothing I can’t handle. I just keep on keeping it together (one of my songs) and never give up is key.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I wear many hats, such as I’m an Artist, a great Home Cook, and a Singer/Songwriter and Recording Artist. I specialize in all of these, but I have to say that my Music is my main bag you know. I’m known for my Music mainly, but I’m pretty well known for my food and artwork as well. I have a cooking group on the Facebook called “What’s Cooking With Serita” It’s quite the group of deliciousness and free to join if you’re so inclined with interest if you love to cook. I’m really proud that Jon and I was blessed to have opened for The Legendary Smokey Robinson at Frederik Meijer Gardens, one of Grand Raids’ most prestigious Venues… Jon and I was also blessed again to have gotten the opportunity to open for the Legendary rock band Kansas there too! I’m really honored and proud to be a part of the production “The Music That Raised Us” as well. Although I’ve starred in the Musical Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar, the current production of TMTRU is so amazing, and I’m honored to celebrate some of the Greatest Black Women and their music contributions to the world! What sets me apart from others is my voice and who I am, The Black Rose! I’ve been told quite often that no one sings like I do and that my music is really good!!! This makes my heart smiles. I would love nothing more than to be able to share my talents and my music with everyone and for everyone to know my name, my face, and sound…

What do you think about luck?
I prefer to look at it as blessings that have not come upon me yet to connect with the right people and fit in the music industry to move further. I haven’t connected just yet, but I know that the perfect connection in production (producer/manager label) is right there in my future very close. I’m ready willing, and able to connect and up!!!
