Daily Inspiration: Meet Anthony Seymour

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Seymour.

Hi Anthony, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my Barbering journey in 2021. I received the idea from a colleague and good friend (Greg Cavette) because he had recently took interest in it at the time and was very convinced it’s a great hobby to get into, not knowing it could lead into a good financial position in the future. I started my first practicing in flint then I moved to North Carolina for the summer of 2021 to find other opportunities as well. instead of staying, I came back to flint because I knew I had multiple opportunities there as well. So, I started cutting my little brother to big brothers’ hair then after a while, I started to receive compensation for the services I was providing. Then in the beginning of 2022, I had clients, actual CLIENTS. At that point, I had to figure out a safer way to bring clients in so I went to go find a booth. After finding me a booth that is located on Ballenger and flushing I made it the stomping grounds of LouwayCuts. I founded the name louwaycuts after a young friend and brother Louis Williams in 2022 who passed away back in late 2021. I took the [LOU] from his name and created louway giving it an urban slang from the community he was from. The whole 2022 I cut over 75 heads and learned so much while doing it. the end of 2022 I was getting calls every day for a haircut rather if I was cutting or not. lack of transportation made miss many opportunities in 2022 but in 2023 I will not let that stop me. I want to be at the top cutting with some of the biggest names like Vic Blends, GetBeamed, 360 Jezzy, and a lot more. I hope to receive more opportunities in the near future as I’m building my brand.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Lack of transportation was the biggest downfall of 2022. not knowing if I could get to this place to cut this guys hair in time. sometimes I had to cancel appointments and miss out because I had no ride.
