Today we’d like to introduce you to Imari Bradley.
Hi Imari, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well, I would love to start by telling you my name. My name is Imari Bradley, but I go by “Imari Sharie” on stage. I’ve been singing since I was 4. Ever since then my parents knew I would be something more than special! When I started elementary school, I was always in a talent show or school concerts. All of my vocal teachers knew I had something unique. A powerhouse at a very young age. As I gotten older, to the age of 9, I started to sing in church. It made me feel so good to be singing for not only family and friends but for the one who gave me this gift! God! He continued to bless me with many more opportunities! One of those opportunities were singing for the Detroit Academy Of Arts & Sciences choir my whole middle school journey. This choir has given me the opportunity to sing for President Barack & First Lady Michelle Obama, “The Today Show,” The Thanksgiving Parade, Lions halftime show & many more blessings! So grateful and thankful to have worked with my choir teacher, Angela Kee! She has taught me how to work the stage, the mic and to become humble at an important time of my life. Leaving middle school and opening new doors for high school was different but was still a time to be alive! As I attended Detroit school of arts, I became more opened with my talent. I started working my way into acting and being more on the big screen while in my Radio & Television class. I continued to sing in the choir up until my sophomore year. I found myself loving to try new things! While the time of high school was quick, it sure was a very bittersweet & joyful experience. During the time of 2020 & so forth the world has been dealing with a worldwide virus known as “Covid-19”. At this time, I was in the midst of graduating the following year of 2021. Even though the world had a major setback the lord still continued to bless. I knew people told me it would fly by but not in the blink of an eye. As time passes to graduation, I continued my education with a trade. That trade was me becoming a realtor. I went to school and next thing you know I finally got my realtor’s license! As I am now still finding who I am, I still know for a fact that my time is coming and I am meant to be on that stage! Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity and even more for listening!
Love,
Imari Sharie
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
This has most definitely been a roller coaster, but so worth it! As I still have long ways to go, my journey so far has molded me into a strong & opened artist! I remember a few times I had to find a way to make things work. On November 12, 2018, I had auditioned for “Americas got talent“. This day was long and exhausting, but I still had so much energy from excitement! I skipped school and waited hours and hours for my turn. I remember being there from 8 am-11 pm at night! This day gave me sooo many emotions! From waiting to the time I had auditioned. As the night continues, I ended up being 1 out of the 2 contestants the “EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS” wanted to hear to make a decision for the next round!!! I ended up not getting chosen, but it’s ok because I never gave up! At the time I had a YouTube channel for about 2 years now where I posted singing videos & just random videos letting my supporters know a little more about me. When I didn’t make it, I started to post more and more on YouTube. As of today, I am at 92 thousand followers and have more than 2 videos with over 1 million views! I might’ve not gotten signed by anyone yet but I’m doing what I love! With me being 19 I’m still going through challenges and have way more life to live and figure things out! I’m now working a job, handling young adult situations, and still trying to do what I love at the same time! So no, it hasn’t been a smooth road but it’s going to be worth it! I can feel it…
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What I do as of right now is work at the “Westin Book Cadillac hotel” as valet. It might not be where I want to be at the moment, but you have to make sacrifices in order to get where you want to really be in life. I am still working hard for my singing career and I’m working with whatever god has planned for me with real estate. I love keeping myself busy with things I love doing! I’m known for my voice and my work ethic! I am most proud of who I am and how humble I can be. That IS what sets me apart from others! Nobody never made me feel less of who I am or less of what I do. Anything I do I put my ALL into it. Even if it is a 9-5. I always show up on time, never call off, and never leave early. Those things will be great for my singing career. That is what creates a LEGEND! God, hard work, being humble & having motive! I know that god has great plans for me so I follow in his footsteps.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something I would say is surprising about me is my personality. I can come off as quiet and nonchalant to most but once people get to know me, they see a much bigger picture. Other than that, I am a normal human being lol.
