Exploring Life & Business with Cait Wisniewski of NuAbode Properties

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cait Wisniewski.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I came from the service industry where I was a server in a brewery. After that, I tried a few desk jobs in various fields & quickly learned it wasn’t for me. I fell into real estate by shadowing someone I knew to see how they liked their job.

I truly fell in love with real estate & have evolved my career ever since. I wanted a job where I could set my own schedule & find new challenges every day instead of the same thing over and over again. I find monotonous work very boring & really love the challenges & constant learning that real estate can provide. At the time I got into real estate I was a poor young mom trying to Figure out my life.

When I got into real estate I first started dating my now husband who has helped me raise my oldest daughter since she was 2. Together we have built a small real estate team & slowly accomplishing our goals together. My husband is also passionate about real estate. He cheered me on for the first 5 years of my career before deciding to get licensed himself. The pandemic was the final push where he had the time to invest & get licensed to be a realtor alongside me.

Truly though my husband has been my biggest support & has encouraged me to grow my business & make it what it is today. We specialize in first-time home buyers, investing, flipping, renovating… you name it! We walk the talk so to speak having flipped & renovated many houses while owning several rentals.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
When I first got licensed we struggled financially as we truly were a 1 income household at that time. Real estate takes a lot of time, patience, and money to really get your business stable. I would say year 3 is when it felt like my career started to take off where we had my income as support.

There were many times we struggled with debt & uncertainty as I plugged along to try to make my business to a point I could support us. Throughout the years we’ve had those financial hardships, in the beginning, family stress, house repair burdens, and just about any normal life struggles you can think of to deal with while juggling kids and a full-time business.

We’ve been impressed with NuAbode Properties, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our team name is called NuAbode Properties! We are a small real estate team consisting of myself, my husband, an admin & one other agent. We strive to continue to grow but on a sustainable level. We help people buy & sell real estate. We specialize in first-time home buyers, investors, relocation, new builds & just about any real estate need or niche a client has, Together we have just over 10 years of experience between us all. I also hold my broker’s license which I hang under my current broker at 616 Realty.

We consider ourselves not the average realtors. What truly makes up stand apart is our compassion for our clients & drive to educate the people we serve. We are truly a referral-based business & pride ourselves on the level of service we provide to our clients. Many of our clients have become friends & big parts of our lives today. My husband & I have a background in flipping, renovating & owning rental properties ourselves. We love to educate our clients on the inner workings of homes & what it takes to really be a homeowner. Knowledge is power & we find the better we can equip our clients the happier they, in the long run, are with their purchases.

What are your plans for the future?
We like to set a big goal each year that we want to accomplish. For 2023 we are focusing on continuing our education for ourselves as a team to better serve clients in an ever-changing volatile market. The market is shifting & changing drastically from the last 2 years we have had. Our goal is simply to stay relevant this next year in all things real estate to better serve our clients.

If I had to address a big goal of ours it would be to get licensed in another state to expand a small branch of our team.

We have been gearing up for this goal & are hoping to end 2023 accomplishing that. We have our eyes on Florida right now as we are familiar with the market & have a strong connection to a certain area there because of friends & family. Grand Rapids & surrounding areas will always be our main satellite place though.
