Meet Amy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy. 

Hi Amy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I have always loved taking photos and videos to capture fun and memorable moments. Even as a kid I remember using our old VHS camcorder to film random skits with my friends! After high school I was very into music and attending concerts, taking photos and videos of the shows I attended. This led to my friend Jess and I creating the website “Put Me in the Picture”, where we shared all of our concert photos/videos, interviewed musicians/celebrities, road-tripped all over the US selling merchandise at concerts, etc. I began learning how to do basic video editing stuff and would put together videos of our road trips. Now with my love for travel I have shifted into making content around that part of my life. I created ThisBlondeLife to be a place where I can share everything about my adventures (near and far!) mainly via my website and YouTube Channel. It’s been a slow process; figuring out how to build a website again, getting over the fear of talking on camera to improve the quality of my videos (I am very shy!), etc. But I really enjoy doing it and hope those who read or watch my content get something out of it too! 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There has been some struggles along the way but nothing too major! Firstly, trying to build my website was a process! I mainly just know a few basics, so setting everything up and learning that has been interesting. I still have a long way to go, but I’m working with what I have at the moment and can hopefully keep improving it along the way! 

Another struggle I mentioned in a previous answer, but getting over the fear of being on camera while filming my YouTube videos! I have always been very shy and a bit awkward, so talking in front of people or on camera has always been a very scary thing to me.

My full-time everyday job, I work in the mortgage/title insurance industry. On the side, I work as a Travel Advisor for my friend Tiffanys travel agency, Wish Upon a Vacation. I love researching trips, especially all-inclusive resort vacations! Cancun is my specialty 🙂 By being a traveler myself and documenting our trips, it has been beneficial to the travel agency side of things. We are able to show these to our clients/potential clients so they can see the resorts/hotels/rooms we stay in, excursions they can participate in, tips for the area, etc.
